Content
The important elements in learning a language are grammar, always grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. Reading is essential so as to reinforce and develop a greater vocabulary. My lessons comprise a balance of these elements. Whether teaching children or adults repetition is important as is variety. My lessons can be tailored to your specific needs but will include from the outset, learning these basic things first:
- the italian alphabet
- pronunciation of each letter
- vowels
- Italian Greetings – Saluti
- numbers
- days of the week, months of the year, the four seasons
- How are you? Come stai?
- I call myself, my name is, what are you called?
- How old are you? Where do you live?
- Grammar, there's alot at all levels
- Nouns, articles and gender
- Prepositions / Pronouns
- Adjectives, adverbs
- Verbs
- Reading,
- books for foreigners,
- writing and listening activities
- Flashcards, games, music and song

- films/film evenings/italian film festival

Vocabulary
- textbooks follow themes of learning, so this will determine some of your vocabulary
- regional foods, colours, family, places, objects, home, animals, opposites, useful expressions
- ideomatic phrases, sayings
- geography - the map of Italy; it’s 20 regions, provinces and capital cities
